Marine 1st Lieutenant Pressley Neville O'Bannon was a Master Mason and placed the first
Stars & Stripes on foreign soil in defense of our national interests. His heroic
achievement was the basis for the refrain in the Marines' Hymm "...to the shores of
Tripoli."
